Siauw Wei Han

Wei Han has many talents; he's an accomplished violinist, inline skating instructor, school cheerleader and now, salsa dancer. He was recently featured on Channel U's "Man Enough", where he had a a makeover, as well as all his chest hair removed. This is what Wei Han has to say:

How long ago was it since you first started salsa dancing? And where was it?
It was December 2003, when it was held at the very comfortable StarDUS dance studio along River Valley road. I still remember that they had named the class "Mejor de Salsa" or something like that… it was a French name.

What made you decide to pick up salsa?
Trust me… I have never thought I could dance at all… if not for Kelvin Yee’s constant bugging… I would never have relented.
How did you hear about Two Left Feet?
I shall change this question to “what I think of the school” instead. I think 2LF has come a long way, from a school that people hardly even knew to a school that now some feel intimidated by. 2LF has cultivated a culture of learn as you dance, that is if you ever danced with your instructors outside the curriculum time. And it was this culture that made me constantly want to improve. The best part of this school is I had a sense of belonging with 2LF. Spending my Saturdays with people from 2LF is now a weekly event! And I have not regretted a single moment with the instructors whom I regard as close friends. Not forgetting to mention that I have also made very close friends along the way (you guys know who you are)!!
What do you think is the best thing about salsa?
The best thing about salsa is discovering how you have improved from week to week! Oh and discovering that your friends are improving too!!
What was the best experience you’ve ever had on the dance floor?
The best experience would be performing a Rueda routine for our very our instructor’s wedding! All the practising and all the time spent together was priceless!
What was the most embarrassing experience you’ve ever had on the dance floor (please use pseudonyms)?
The most embarrassing moment is touching a lady’s breast when I was trying to save her from falling after attempting a quadruple turn… and whoops “how did my palm get there???”.
Describe your perfect dance partner.
Hey, salsa is a social dance not a structured dance!!! So there is no one perfect dance partner! We should always be adaptable to everyone… besides no one is perfect!
How has your life changed since you picked up salsa?
My Saturdays are always with 2LF.
What is your salsa goal for this month?
To come out dancing more!!!!
