How
long ago was it since you first started Salsa dancing? And where was
it?
Well, I started Salsa in Singapore with Two left feet back in September
2009. |
|
What made
you decide to pick up Salsa?
It was a spur of the moment thing. A friend of mine asked if I knew
anyone who wanted to learn Salsa, and dancing is something I’d wanted to
do for a while but never really had the time to really take up. Well, a
lot of things had been happening and I decided to make time. So I took
the plunge and said I was interested, and I haven’t looked back since. |
|
How did you hear about Two Left
Feet?
I heard it first from my friend. |
|
What do
you think is the best thing about Salsa?
It’s a wonderful form of relaxation and exercise. There are a lot of
things to recommend it. |
|
What was
the best experience youve ever had on the dance floor?
Sometimes, when the music is particularly appealing, and you are
dancing with someone you feel really comfortable with, you can lose
yourself in the dance, and then the experience can be something really
special. Its something that I’ve had the pleasure of experiencing on
some rare occasions. |
|
What was
the most embarrassing experience youve ever had on the dance floor
(please use pseudonyms)?
When I was just starting out, the dance floor was crowded, I lead my
partner into a cross lead turn without realizing that the guy behind me
was doing something similar and it led to a rather unpleasant (and loud)
collision, a rather painful blow to my foot where my partners heels
landed, and a bigger bruise to my confidence. But Salsa also thickens
your skin and I was back dancing a couple of songs later, so alls good! |
|
Describe
your perfect dance partner.
Anyone who I feel comfortable with, someone who is willing to forgive
me my (many) mistakes, and someone I can smile and laugh with during the
dance. |
|
How has
your life changed since you picked up Salsa?
I’ve become more confident and I’d say fitter then before, losing quite
a bit of weight (Its really good exercise!). |
|
What is
your Salsa goal for this month?
To learn to be a better lead, and to make sure that I at least get the
basics right in the moves I learn. |
